Play Therapy for Children

The Importance of Play

We use the left side of our brain for talking and the right side for feeling. Asking children to come in and talk about how they feel is asking them to integrate their whole brain. This is a hard task even for an adult with a fully developed brain.

Play, art, and sand tray all activate the right side of the brain. Through these modalities, we can help a child access their emotions on a deeper level. Our therapists have been trained on how to use the left side of their brain during play to integrate a whole brain approach to healing.

Play helps children regulate emotions, increase self awareness, increase self esteem, increase empathy, learn social skills, manage behaviors, and so much more.

Our Role as Parents

We believe parenting is one of the best things and hardest things. We think of parenting as a baby learning to walk. Sometimes they are running, and it is going great. Sometimes they trip and fall and just want to sit and scream.

Learning to help our children walk step by step in growing instead of standing at the top as an adult expecting them to be able to join us up there is such a challenging and wonderful process. It is our honor to come alongside you in your parenting journey as we grow in grace together.

Ready to start your journey?

We’d be honored to come alongside you!
